Talk Without Rhythm Podcast

Join El Goro, part-time luchador and full-time cinephile, as he delves into the broad grassy spaces and massed granite tarns of cinema. Each episode, El Goro discusses two movies tied together by some kind of theme. Action, sci-fi, horror, high-brow, low-brow: it's all fair game.

This week on the Talk Without Rhythm Podcast I'm dipping my toes into the vast world of Queer Cinema with 1994's Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and 1996's The Birdcage. Luckily I have my buddy Jae as a guide!

This week on the Talk Without Rhythm Podcast I'm discussing 1974's The Yakuza and 1989's Black Rain. I even present a solution to those who have angst over Hollywood's "whitewashing" problem.

This week on the Talk Without Rhythm Podcast I'm joined by Dynamo Marz and Johnny Wolfenstein of Trick or Treat Radio. Our topic today is two Korean-born men who managed to overcome racial adversity and rose to the top of their chosen calling in Japan.

First up, we have Mas Oyama - founder of Kyokushin Karate, inspiration for the Street Fighter character Ryu, and subject of the 2004 biopic Fighter in the Wind.

Next we have Rikidozan, perhaps the most influential pro-wrestler who ever lived and, appropriately enough, the subject of the 2004 film Rikidozan.

Finally, I'll be dropping some important information concerning the future of TWoRP. You'll want to hear this folks.

This week on Talk Without Rhythm Podcast I'm covering two underappreciated sci-fi films from 2002 that star Christian Bale.* First we kick things off on the dystopia-via-gun-fu end with Equilibrium, then we round things off on the post-apocalypse-via-dragonfire end Reign of Fire.

*How's that for a SUPER specific theme?
